The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office wants to help assess and address the impacts of federal actions on Minnesotans. This form is for reporting incidents or effects related to or caused by recent federal actions in Minnesota, including but not limited to: violations of constitutional rights (racial profiling, excessive force, retaliation against protestors, observers, and media), business closures, reduced healthcare access, reduced education access, other issues impacting public safety and civil liberties, federal funding cuts, federal grant terminations, terms and conditions tied to federal program participation, other administrative actions by Federal agencies. The information you provide may be used by the AGO to support its current lawsuit challenging the DHS surge, as well as future actions to enforce the law. The Minnesota Attorney General's Office intends to investigate matters reported to it for the purpose of defending and enforcing Minnesota’s laws and defending the State of Minnesota against actions that violate the State’s rights under the Constitution and applicable federal law. The Minnesota Attorney’s General office cannot represent or provide legal advice to private citizens.
Given the need to act quickly and the potential for a high volume of submissions, we cannot respond individually to every submission. We may contact you for additional details or documentation. Even if we do not respond, we value your input and your experiences matter to us.
Depending on the nature of the incident you report, the AGO may refer complaints to third parties (including other state entities, law enforcement agencies, or attorneys who may be able to investigate or respond to the incident you describe.)
If you have evidence regarding the shooting incident in Minneapolis on January 7, please submit it to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office Evidence Submission Portal.
